What Malcolm X Represented

Today Malcolm X would have been 96 years old, but sadly that’s not he case. As we remember his legacy today, we must acknowledge what he represented…an unapologetic black man of principle and values. He was not afraid to speak truth to power and lead in times of danger. He was a renegade and an icon.

What did he represent? The Nation of Islam? No. The Civil Rights movement? No. Black leadership? No. A Martyr? No. A rebel? No. A criminal? No. He represented Malcolm X. Not Malcolm Little the criminal but Malcolm X the man who grew from his horrible past to inspire the world. Here at Bytown Blog we celebrate great black men and their achievements. Not on a collective scale but on an individual basis, so let us celebrate this man, today, tomorrow and forever.
